We’ve all been there. Locking yourself away after a fight even though you know its the wrong thing to do. You can let the pain disperse and avoid the peace talks you’re not ready for yet.
On her new single ‘ Do Not Disturb‘, Dundee born artist Be Charlotte has channeled her experience of that guilt-ridden frustration into something beautiful.
Blending elements of piano pop with effortlessly catchy lyrics and gently swelling choruses, the single is a delight to listen to. One you’ll have on repeat and happily listen to ten times before you realise.
The single marks a slight shift in style from Be Charlotte, who previously has been known for her quick tongue and quirky instrumental compositions. ‘Do Not Disturb‘ feels like more of a conventional “pop” track, following in the footsteps of the likes of fellow Scot Lewis Capaldi and Norwegian sensation Sigrid.
It’s really nice to see Be Charlotte keep things simple and honest, putting everything she has into creating a song which is as enjoyable as possible. It shows that she is an artist capable of much more than many have given her credit for, and opens the door to a whole word of possibilities in the future.
